David Giers

I was born in Vancouver B.C. and Received my B.Sc. in physics from UBC, my M.Sc. in physics from the University of Windsor and my B.Ed. from the University of Calgary.  Previous to my teaching career I ran a successful consulting firm specializing in airborne infra-red remote sensing and laser spectroscopy.  I have worked for my school district for 23 years.  I live in north Calgary with my wife and two children.  When not teaching I am involved with family activities, several woodworking / renovation projects, as well as glass-blowing activities.

Brad has been teaching Physics 30 for 12 years, with the last 6 at Spruce Grove Composite High School. He is a nominee for the 2012 APEGA Excellence in Science Teaching Award, has presented Physics Professional Development Sessions to Alberta teachers at provincial conferences for 5 years and has worked extensively with Alberta Education in marking, writing questions for and reviewing the Physics 30 Diploma Exam. Brad brings his enthusiasm and love of Physics to the classroom for a high energy review experience that employs different mediums to help you learn all of the outcomes of this challenging course. Be ready: Brad will give you the whole seat, but you're only going to need the edge of it!
