Fred is the Math Department Head at Harry Ainlay High School, where he has taught all levels of math including calculus. In addition to 17 years of classroom teaching experience, Fred has also helped students achieve high marks as a private tutor both in Canada and the United States. He has led test prep courses since 2007, including courses in Math 30-1, Math 30-2, and SAT/ACT prep for U.S. college admission. Fred’s involvement with the Math 30-2 Diploma Program in item writing, field test validation, and marking exams has provided him with keen insight into how students can best prepare for test day. Students in Fred’s classes will not only get a full review of the course, but also learn a ton of test-taking strategies that will boost confidence and results alike! Former diploma prep students especially liked Fred’s engaging humor, clarity of instruction, and winning calculator strategies. When he is not teaching, Fred likes to unwind with a thought-provoking movie or an adrenalin-inducing motorcycle ride down the streets of Edmonton. Get set to rock the diploma with Fred!
